RAJA THIS TIME A FESTIVAL OF ODIA MOVIES

Rajo, the festival of cultivation, this year is going to be celebrated as a festival of Odia movies. Near about five movies are going to be released at a time on this occasion. If the Producers get theaters according to their choice, this Rajo will bring five number of movies to Oriya film lovers. According to Cine critics, it is the indication of good future in Odia Film Industry.

Usual funs apart, this Raja is coming with a bonanza of Oriya films to make the schedule of revellers more suffocating. As many as five films from the production houses, old and new; and by the directors - fresh as well as familiar, are getting ready to class with each other for the space in theatres like the audience to be caught in the class of choices for them.

Although such a crowd of films, unforeseen earlier on one occasion, indicates wellbeing of industry, it unleashes a dreary competition where nobody would surely, emerge winner.

With three successive smash–hits in its ensemble in its first foray in to the cine-biz last year, Sarthak Music is one way to arrive at Raja presenting “Ama Bhitare Kichhi Achhi.” Under the tutelage of the producer Sitaram Agrawal the film based on the story conceived by the well-known scribe Bijay Malla is being directed by Susanta Mani with screenplay by Debidutta Mahanty, music by Bikas Das, dialogue by Hara Barik.

Udit Narayan, Abhijit, Shaan, Suresh Wadker, Sunidhi Chouhan along with Nibedita have lent their voice to the songs in it. Along with the sensational Anubhav and Barsha and Sheelalipi, the film has signed almost all veterans to star in it.

Producer Nirajana Rana under Maa Tarini Films is bringing “Pahili Rajo” to glitz Raja this time. The film directed by a newcomer Tapas Saragaria has music By Rabi Narayan Nanda with Sidhanta, Anu, Debasis, Pintu and Jai in the cast. Sri Baldev Jew productions of Ravi Sahoo, a major production house is hectic in cutting and editing its latest picture Alo Mora Kandhei directed by Himansu Parija with music by Premanand the film features Sidhanta, Akash, Archita and Priya.

Back to back Dil Tate Deichhi and Sanju O Sanjana by Top Film and Jay Hanuman Films, respectively, are vying this festive occasion. While Dil Tate Deichhi is directed by Sanjay Nayak, has Sabyasachi and Priya in the lead with music by Manmath Mishra, Sanju Sanjana Directed by Ashok Pati, produced by Lutu Mahanty is the third film of Baboosan. He pairs with Parijata in this film that has a spectacular of horse – sighting.

I wish to be a good girl for my parents, nice woman for my in-laws: Rali Nanda

From a practicing Odissi dancer to becoming a full-fledged actor(actress), Rali Nanda has traveled a lot of path. With unassuming, beautiful actress, with her characteristic smile and elegance has etched a different image in the minds of Oriya audience in just four years.

In a face-to-face interaction with me Rali shares her experiences and discloses her future plan.

Subrat: You are now a popular film star. Did you strive to be one, or it
just happened in your way?
Rali: Before landing a role in a film I was dancing Odissi. I stood first
in a dance festival and so offers poured in.


Subrat: When? What was the occasion?
Rali: It was in 2007.At Bhubaneswar.


Subrat: How did you take offers?
Rali: I was as frightened and nervous as any newcomer. Initially, I tend
to decline offers.


Subrat: Which is your first?
Rali: Kalingaputra. I was not in mood. I credit its director Braja
Kishore Tripathy for what I am today. When I refused, afraid of
acting, he inspired me. He charged my confidence by assuring me that
they needed a dancing girl, not much acting.



Subrat: Please, share your experience in the first film with our reader(readers).
Rali: I was quite afraid. But the unit was wonderful, very hospitable.
I learned a lot from my interaction with them. I would act, no, ape
before them and they were laughing.



Subrat: How many films you have so far acted in?
Rali: Four films.


Subrat: Which is your best?
Rali: All. But I like Akashe Ki Ranga Lagila. There is a lot of dancing there.



Subrat: In all most all your films you are invariably assigned a dance
sequence integral to narrative. How so?
Rali: Yes, they add dance numbers as commercial gimmicks. Why they
visualise on me? Because I am a dancer.



Subrat: And all your dances in films are classical?
Rali: I love classical dance. As a child I was dancing
instinctively...my mother tells me. I owe it all to my parents. After
God's blessing, I have the love and affection of my father and mother
all along. My mother got me admitted in a dance school when I was a
child. Since then I have not turned back.



Subrat: What do you wish in your life?
Rali: I wish to be a cute dancer and an adorable actress. Above everything else, I wish to be a good girl for my parents and a nice woman among my in-laws after marriage.

THE ANUBHAV EXPERIENCE

The Superstar is the most famous name in Ollywood and Tollywood. He started his career as a model and has won several award for modeling. Then he started getting offers from Odia albums and has featured in around 80-100 video songs. He quietly ruled the album industry for sometime before moving into mainstream films.

He debuted in Odia film industry with the film I Love You along with Namrata thapa. The film was a super duper hit. His other films of the same year were Saathire(2004) and Barsha My Darling(2004) becoming Hit and Super Hit respectively. Till now he has played roles in more than 30 feature films.

Subrat : Would you tell about your stint in other language films ?
Anubhav : I have been acting in as much Bengali films as ours. Besides I have worked in many Hindi language ads.

Subrat : How come all the films you star in, run successfully in the box office ?
Anubhav : For Gods blessings and love affection of my fans. I have never been deprived of all these fortunately. Besides I am always choosy and cautious about the films I sign. Before signing I specifically make it sure I am going to work with a Producer, Director, Stuntman and above all a unit that could deliver.

Subrat : What type of character you love to play ?
Anubhav : I hate being typecast. I always care to scrap the image I acquire from my last film. I love all the roles I have yet essayed. But I have been cherishing a desire to act in a biopic or historical having patriotic flavor – like the one telling the history of Paika Bidroh. I also nurse a wish to be a sportsman on the screen. Now I am writing a script on this subject.

Subrat : What is your vision of a film ?
Anubhav : Subrat, I visualize films that I can watch and enjoy without feeling embarrassed. Thay could cease to be vulgar. I am aware of my image being emulated even by children. I shall never set an example that will adversely impact the society.

Subrat : Please tell about your forthcoming films.
Anubhav : One of my films, ‘Mu kan ete kharap’ is being shown now. Besides I am sharing my schedule between two untitled films being shoot simultaneously, one produced by Umamani Productions and another one by the Sarthak Films Private Limited.

It has been requested by WWF to all of you to Switch off your lights for one hour at this time. That is all it takes for you to participate along with millions of people in the single largest mass statement on climate change.

Lets know something more about Earth hour. Earth Hour is more than just turning off the lights for one hour together once a year. According to WWF "When we do this together, when whole cities go dark, we send a strong message to our leaders about the threats of global warming and that we can work together to create a sustainable future for our planet".

According to sources last year, 4,000 cities in 88 countries took part in the international celebration of darkness. This year let us help to make it even bigger. This will not only our responsibility but also helpful in saving this globe in a broader prospective.

Interview with Kiran Manisha Mohanty

Well known Chess player Kiran Manisha Mohanty became the first person from Orissa to become a Grandmaster, as she won her third Woman Grandmaster Norm at the recently held Parachute Advanced International Chess Tournament in Bangladesh. Here is an exclusive interview by Subrat with Kiran.



Subrat : Some memories of Childhood, you would like to share with our readers.
Kiran : At the age of 5, I started learning Odishi dance. And at age of 8, I completed +2 exams in Odishi dance.


Subrat : How did u start playing Chess?
Kiran : At the age of 9, I started playing chess inspired by parents. I took this seriously at the age of 12.

Subrat : Among all achievements what are the most pleasant moment of achievement for you ?
Kiran : National women A - 2007 is my memorable tournament. There I became joint champion and got my 1st Women Grand Master (WGM) norm.

Subrat : What are your hobbies except Chess ?
Kiran : Reading books and Listening music.

Subrat : Which has been your most toughest game so far ?
Kiran : Subrat, it was the game with Soumya Swaminathan in National Women 'A' 2009 at Chennai. That one was the last round, if I win, I ll get my 2nd WGM norm and my position ll be 3rd.While playing the game I was so tensed and nervous. Finally I won the game.

Subrat : Who is your inspiration ?
Kiran : My father Sir Kishore Chandra Mohanty.

Subrat : How do u manage your studies and Chess ? Is it not difficult ?
Kiran : It is difficult to manage both. Mainly I consider in Chess. Definitely I do not get much time in Study.

Subrat : What is your ultimate goal in your life ?
Kiran : To became Women Word Champion.

Subrat : If would not have been a Chess player, then what would have Kiran been ?
Kiran : I will be in Aeronautical Engineering.
